Craig Jelks teaches 9th grade Social Studies and has over a decade of experience in the classroom.  Students describe his teaching style as motivational, exciting, and inspirational. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C. and a Master of Arts degree from Columbia University in New York.  Mr. Jelks also studied abroad at Oxford University in England.  

His tenure as an educator includes teaching at the middle school, high school, and college levels. In 2019, Mr. Jelks was nominated for the National History Teacher of the Year Award. He has served as a mentor teacher, team leader, and chairperson of committees on school culture and climate.   

Indeed, Mr. Jelks is committed to providing all students with an effective, challenging, and engaging education.  His love for learning is contagious and he is thrilled about the 2023-2024 academic year.  

Mr. Jelks is married with three daughters.
