Mountain Brook Junior High - Professional Learning
"Professional learning is the means by which educators acquire or enhance the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs necessary to create high levels of learning for all students. For many educators, staff development has traditionally been synonymous with workshops, courses, and presentations by “experts.” Today, we know that professional learning can take many forms and draws on the perspectives, talents, and contribution of K-12 educators, higher education personnel, and individuals who serve in various other roles" (Learning Forward's Standards for Professional Learning). At Mountain Brook Junior High we deeply value professional learning and believe it is key in the cycle of continuous improvement. We strive to learn more in an effort to foster growth in our craft that will ultimately impact student learning in profound ways.
