Connect Your Classroom Equipment
Over the summer equipment is often moved due to teachers moving rooms, waxing of floors and the rearrangement of furniture. You will want to check the equipment in your room to make sure it is connected properly. Also, please tie up any loose cables to organize your cables. Velcro is available from the MBJH technology coordinator. Please do not use zip ties. The attached file will show you a map to how the cables in your room should be connected. -

1. If you are a new employee, be sure to login to Schoolwires using your network username and password. Then let your school coordinator know you need a webpage template created for you.

Set your default printer
Click start and choose Devices and Printers. Right click the printer to set as default. -
Purchase technology items you need for your classroom
headphones, desktop microphones for your class desktop, surge protectors, batteries for remotes (Sound system microphones--use ONLY rechargeable NiMi batteries.) -
Prepare your online learning tools (ex. Canvas, Google Classroom, SchoolWires)

Installing Updates
What to do when prompted to run or install updates or add-ons--Teachers and students should always run java, adobe, & iTunes when available or prompted.On laptops, periodically do Windows updates manually. ALWAYS uncheck extra options given on pop ups like the -ASK Toolbar and -Norton's Anitvirus Software. Also be aware that when an online site needs something enabled or installed to run, it will prompt you at the bottom or top of the webpage. Click here for Detailed Instructions on running updates. -
Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365/One Drive which is cloud based. (similar to Google Drive) With 365, you have One Drive and Word, PowerPoint, Excel in the cloud. You can access this from anywhere with Internet connection (like Google). This will only be available to staff for now. Your one drive is larger than your G drive. Don't sync your entire G to your One Drive. Your G drive is much smaller than your One Drive. (You could sync a folder of files you are currently working on.) With the option of 365, teachers will also get the option with directions to INSTALL Microsoft 2013 right now on your HOME computer (up to 5) AND install office 2013 on your iPad.More information about Microsoft 365 can be found under Technology Assist/Instructional Technologies/Software and Online Resources. -

Using Laptops
- Reserve the cart and move the cart to your room (teacher supervision).- Assign students to use the same laptop number.- Show students how to store the laptops.- Check to make sure all laptops and cords are stored properly.- Lock the cart and return to its assigned room.
