CPM Geometry – Chapter 6

Congruent Triangles

In this chapter, students begin the study of congruent triangles.  During this chapter students:

  • Use similarity as a tool find  the minimum amount of information needed to conclude that a pair of triangles must be congruent.
  • Formalize the triangle congruence theorems:  SSS ≅, SAS ≅, ASA ≅, AAS ≅, and HL ≅.
  • Consolidate what they know, apply concepts in new ways, and identify questions for further exploration determining the tools and strategies needed to reach a solution.
