CPM Geometry – Chapter 11

Solids and Circles

 In this chapter, students will do an investigation of polyhedra, and generate all of the possible platonic solids (tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron). The themes are solids and circles. During this chapter:

  • Students will investigate pyramids, cones and spheres.
  • Students will do a problem solving activity that uses the globe as a spherical context to drive an investigation of circles, tangents, and secants.
