Transformations of Parent Graphs
|
In this chapter, students will work on generalizing. The theme is transformations of parent graphs. During this chapter:
- Students learn how to generate families of functions from parent functions starting with the parent function f(x) = x2.
- Students develop a general equation f(x) = a(x − h)2 + k for the family of quadratic functions.
- Students will use a parent graph with transformations to graph other non linear functions.
