CPM Algebra 2 – Chapter 2

Transformations of Parent Graphs

In this chapter, students will work on generalizing.  The theme is transformations of parent graphs. During this chapter:

  • Students learn how to generate families of functions from parent functions starting with the parent function  f(x) = x2.
  • Students develop a general equation f(x) = a(x − h)2 + k for the family of quadratic functions.
  • Students will use a parent graph with transformations to graph other non linear functions.
