CPM Course 3 – Chapter 7

Slope and Association
In this chapter, students build on the single‑variable data displays and the coordinate graphing skills previously seen. The themes are slope and association.  During this chapter students:

  • Build circle graphs to represent categorical data.
  • Analyze two-variable data with scatter plots and look for patterns.
  • Create and analyze a trend line (graphing technology) and use it to make predictions.
  • Apply the concept of slope as growth rates and steepness.
