CPM Course 3 – Chapter 6

Transformations and Similarity
In  this chapter students use rigid transformations (translation, rotation, and reflection).  The themes are transformations and similarity.  During this chapter students:

  • Predict the result of each of the transformations, as well as notice how transformations can sometimes be interchanged and undone.
  • Perform basic transformations on a coordinate plane, naming points using coordinates.
  • Identify the relationships between the lengths of corresponding sides of similar figures, and use scale factors to find the lengths of missing sides.
