CPM Course 2 – Chapter 9

Circles and Volume

In this chapter, students investigate the relationship between the circumference and diameter for circles. They find the relationship to be proportional with π as a multiplier. The themes are circles and volume. During this chapter:

  • Students will  find the area of composite shapes built from triangles, circles, and other shapes and apply this to finding the volume of right prisms.
  • Students will learn strategies for calculating the volume of a prism.
