Solving Inequalities and Equations
 This chapter compares expressions to determine whether one is greater than the other by simplifying. The themes are solving inequalities and equations. During this chapter students:

  • Simplify expressions using tiles.
  • Record the expressions as inequalities and represent solutions to an inequality on a number line.
  • Write an equation, solve for a variable, and record their solving steps using algebraic notation, including word problems.
