CPM Course 1 – Chapter 9

Volume and Percents
 In this chapter, students will work on portions (in this case, percentages), and area. The themes are volume and percents. During the chapter students:

  • Build prisms and nets to explore cubic units to develop an understanding of volume and calculate volume of a right prism.
  • Work percent applications, calculating percents of amounts (using diagrams/familiar percents)
  • Calculate discounts, sale prices, tips, and simple interest
