CPM Course 1 – Chapter 3

Portions and Integers
In this chapter, students begin by focusing on multiple representations of portions, ratios, and equivalence.  The themes are portions and integers. During this chapter:

  • Students work with integers ( representing on a number line)  and signed rational numbers.
  • Students use the “giant one” to find equivalent fractions
  • Students convert between percents, fractions, and decimals connecting these ideas to the concept of ratios.
