Arithmetic Strategies and Area

In this chapter, students focus on visualizing and displaying data. The themes are arithmetic strategies and area. During the chapter students:
- Collect data and look at various methods to display their data.
- Learn that area is measured by counting the number of square units that “cover” a region and determine a relationship between the area and perimeter of a figure.
- Use generic rectangles as a tool for multiplication and to find greatest common factor.
