Ballots Mailed for May 21 Election

Local option levy and school board elections on ballot 

Ballots are on their way to voters for the May 21 election, which includes four positions on the Eugene School District board of directors and a ballot measure to renew the Eugene School District local option levy for school operations.

The 4J school board is elected from the district at large, not from geographic regions. Registered voters who live within the Eugene School District may vote on the levy renewal measure and all four 4J board positions on the ballot.

To be counted, ballots must be received by the elections office no later than Tuesday, May 21, at 8 p.m.

Measure 20-301: Eugene School District 4J
Five-year renewal of current local option tax for general operations

Candidates:
Position 1: Alicia Hays (current board member) 
Position 4: Gordon Lafer
Position 5: Jim Torrey (current board member), Martina Shabram
Position 7: Mary Walston (current board member), Deanna Chappell Belcher

Those elected will begin their four-year terms on July 1, 2019. Director positions 2, 3 and 6 will be on the ballot in May 2021.
