Weather-related school closures will delay end of school year
The 2016–17 school calendar includes weather closure make-up days in June, and the December ice storm means they’ll be put to use.
4J schools were closed due to hazardous weather for three days in December. The missed days are expected to be made up at the end of the school year.
The last day of school for students will be Wednesday, June 21, 2017, unless schools close for more days due to weather or other hazards. If there are more school closure days, the district will look to make up additional instruction time by adding more days at the end of the year or by other schedule adjustments.
The academic calendar may be adjusted to balance the trimesters.
