4 will be appointed to open positions
The 4J school board is seeking people interested in serving on the district’s Equity Committee. The committee has four openings for three-year terms expiring in June 2017. Applications are due Thursday, May 15.
The Equity Committee is appointed by the board to provide guidance, support, information and advice about issues of equity, diversity and inclusion in our schools. Building and strengthening student and community partnerships that boost student academic success are an important part of its work.
The volunteer advisory committee consists of 12 community members. In addition, two board members, the superintendent, and three staff members serve as non-voting members on the committee.
Appointment process:
• Applications are due Thursday, May 15 at 5:00 p.m.
• Applicants should attend the school board work session on May 21 at 5:45 p.m. and speak briefly about their interest in the position.
• The board will vote on appointments at the June 4 meeting.
