September 25, 2007 – 7:00pm – 9:00pm
The city has earmarked capital bond money to put multi-purpose community athletic fields at local middle schools in partnership with 4J: one each in the South Eugene and Churchill high school regions.
Other fields at middle schools for community use have already been built at the new Madison and Cal Young middle schools, available for use in fall 2006. The school district is partnering with the City of Eugene on all of these fields, in a cooperative effort to allow the public to get the most use out of our public facilities.
The school district and city will host three public meetings in September, providing information from architects and generating discussion about where the fields might be placed:
• Tuesday, Sept. 11, 7 p.m., Roosevelt Middle School, 680 E. 24th Ave.
• Tuesday, Sept. 18, 7 p.m., The Arts and Technology Academy at Jefferson, 1650 W. 22nd Ave.
• Tuesday, Sept. 25, 7 p.m., Spencer Butte Middle School, 500 E. 43rd Ave.
The meetings are open to the public and any interested community members are encouraged to attend to discuss the possible sites for the fields.
