Three PSD Elementary Schools honored as Green Leaders by OSPI

The Peninsula School District is proud to announce three of its elementary schools have been named 2023 Green Leader Schools by the Washington Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI). 

Swift Water Elementary, Voyager Elementary, and Evergreen Elementary were awarded the honor for each school's work towards creating an environmentally focused school. 

The U.S. Department of Education’s Green Ribbon Schools Program celebrates schools and school districts making significant progress towards; 

  • Reducing environmental impact and costs;
  • Improving the health and wellness of schools, students, and staff; and/or
  • Providing effective environmental and sustainability education, incorporating STEM, civic skills, and green career pathways.

This is the second year in a row Swift Water Elementary and Evergreen Elementary were named Green Leader Schools by OSPI. 

Representatives from OSPI joined Superintendent Bahr, school administrators, PSD Board of Directors members and PSD administrators for a celebration and student-led tour of Evergreen Elementary School on Monday, April 24.
