Kindergarten Jumpstart
Kindergarten Jumpstart is a free program intended to give incoming Kindergarten students a jumpstart into school. Students will meet new friends, get to know the teachers, explore their school, and even take a practice school bus ride! Kindergarten Jumpstart is for children who have not had a formal preschool experience, families who are new to the school, first time Kindergarten parents, and/or children who might need a little help transitioning to the “big” school. Jumpstart takes place in August at each elementary school. Please check back later for registration information.
Early Entrance to Kindergarten
State and Peninsula School District guidelines require that students entering Kindergarten in the fall must be five years of age on or before August 31st. However, a child whose birthdate falls on or between September 1st and October 31st may enter Kindergarten if he or she meets the early entrance requirements. Please click on the FAQs to learn more about the Early Entrance to Kindergarten process.

WaKIDS
The Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Developing Skills (WaKIDS) is a transition process that helps to ensure a successful start to the K-12 experience and connect key adults in a child's life. The 3 components of WaKIDS are: Family connection, whole-child assessment, and early learning collaboration. For more information on WaKIDS, click here.
