Tech Prep ( Dual Credit )

Tech Prep is also referred to as Dual Credit and is one way students may earn college credits while they stay on their high school campus and meet graduation requirements. Below is a list of CTE courses in Peninsula School District which have articulation agreements in place with the Pierce County Careers Connection (PC3). These colleges include Bates Technical College, Clover Park Technical College, Pierce College, and Tacoma Community College. To qualify, students must demonstrate the competencies of each course, earning a grade of “B” or better, and register (online) in the same school year in which they completed the course. Some agreements require the student to complete a sequence of courses to meet the competencies. In these cases, students will register during the last course needed. Credits are posted to transcripts during the summer following the school year in which they were earned. PSD CTE courses eligible for dual credit include:

Registering for Tech Prep is FREE! But it must be done each year that courses are completed in order to transcript. Registration is open December through May of each year. To register for Tech Prep students will create an account at Statewide Enrollment and Reporting System. For more information, visit Pierce County Careers Connection. Students may see their guidance counselor, career counselor, or the CTE instructor of these courses for more information.
