Several Peninsula School District schools were recognized in the recent Niche 2024 best schools rankings, which ranked PSD as the 3rd best district in Pierce County.

The highest honor went to Kopachuck Middle School, as the 5th best public middle school in Pierce County. An article in The News Tribune highlighted Kopachuck and said, "One of the biggest factors that parents consider when making a decision about where they want to raise their children is whether or not that city or neighborhood they are interested in has good schools that will provide their children with the best education possible. Niche published their annual ranking of schools that is based on data provided by the Department of Education."

Discovery Elementary School was ranked as the 6th best public elementary school in Pierce County, while Voyager Elementary School was ranked 10th. Niche ranked Peninsula High School as the 9th best public high school in Pierce County.

Niche also ranked the Peninsula School District as 5th of 238 districts in the category Best School Districts for Athletes in Washington and 28th of 247 for Best School Districts in Washington. Niche ranks nearly 100,000 schools and districts based on statistics and millions of opinions from students and parents.
