Middle school students grab pizza in a school cafeteria line

Key Peninsula Middle School students had a delicious pizza lunch served out of the school’s brand new kitchen. The new kitchen was opened on Thursday, April 6, as remodeling continues at the middle school.

For a majority of the year, students were served lunch in the commons while the kitchen underwent renovations. The new kitchen is open with new appliances and room for school cafeteria workers to cook up great menus for students.

KPMS is one of our two middle schools undergoing major renovations as a part of the 2019 Capital Bonds measure. Construction is expected to finish before the 2023-2024 school year. Throughout the year, new classrooms and more have become available for students, who have shown patience and flexibility during the last two years.

Check out some pictures of the first day with the new kitchen!
