At the August 24th Board of Directors meeting, the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (SEPAC) was established as a Citizen's Advisory Committee. This exciting news means we are looking for volunteers to join our committee to help provide an inclusive learning space and support for all of PSD's students.
The focus of SEPAC is;
- To develop a Special Education Family Education series, scheduled throughout the school year;
- To develop opportunities for relationship building between Special Education families, PSD staff, and community partners; and
- To promote inclusion through equal opportunities and access to quality education for ALL students, regardless of their abilities, backgrounds, or differences.
Volunteers interested in becoming a SEPAC member can apply here or by scanning the QR code below. Applications will remain open until September 15. Once reviewed, the Superintendent will make appointment recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval at the September 19 business meeting.
Interested applicants can view this year's Special Education Family Education series here. This series will provide information specific to parents/guardians of students with special needs, Special Education staff and our community of supporters. These meetings are open to all who would like to learn more about Special Education and the support available for our students.
