I was born and raised in Virginia where I learned the importance of education and treating others with kindness and respect from my parents. When I graduated high school, I wanted to become a teacher to help children learn and understand the world around them. I attended college and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Radford University. I moved to North Carolina in 1998 and began my teaching career. I have worked in many great schools across North Carolina and taught every grade from Kindergarten to Sixth grade. Fifth Grade is my favorite grade to teach because fifth graders are excited to learn about new topics and work hard in class!
