Will my child still use the district-adopted curriculum and be assessed on the grade-level standards?
Yes, frameworks will be created by the teaching team in alignment with the district-adopted curriculum while utilizing project-based learning approaches to access the content. Students will be assessed using the currently utilized grade-level and state assessments.
Will there be a classroom space?
Yes, the program will be housed in a traditional classroom setting with time built in for field-based experiences.
What will be the student population?
Priority slots will be offered to previously and newly identified PACE students whose home schools are on the Key Peninsula (Evergreen, Vaughn, & Minter Creek). After those slots have been filled, a lottery sequence will follow. Predesignated slots will be reserved for each of the Key Peninsula Schools by grade with percent based on school populations, current class numbers. Additional spaces, if available, will be open to a lottery across the rest of the Peninsula School District.
Why are identified PACE students being prioritized?
The district does not currently have a self contained highly capable program on the Key Peninsula. We want to ensure to provide additional access to students in a similar program model in a school that is geographically closer to their homes.
How does the lottery process work?
Powerschool, our district enrollment data system, has a platform that allows school districts to run a lottery. Using this platform allows us to keep all student data centralized and allows us to more easily align and vet the data being presented for the lottery. Due to its automation, it leaves less room for error and supports our front office with the clerical work to ensure we get students properly enrolled in a timely manner.

Families will express interest in Eagle Quest using a modified enrollment form through PowerSchool.

Interest will be open for 15 days.

After closing each STUDENT will receive a lottery number. The system will link students in the same family together. For example, a family has a 2nd grader and a 4th grader. The 2nd grader is assigned #7 and the 4th grader is assigned #89. The lottery process pulls #89. It will automatically attached the sibling, #7. If space allows at those grades, both children will be accepted into enrollment. If there is no space at either grade, both siblings will be waitlisted. If there is space at one grade, but not the other, the family will have to choose if they wish to accept or decline enrollment for one child.

Students whose home schools are Evergreen, Vaughn, and Minter Creek will be prioritized with higher lottery numbers. If slots are available after all Key Peninsula elementary students have been placed, then the lottery numbers of students whose current schools are Artondale, Discovery, Harbor Heights, Pioneer, Purdy, Swift Water, and Voyager will be placed until all slots have been filled.

The lottery will run automatically. There will be no “live” viewing.

After the lottery, families will receive communication of acceptance or waitlist status and directions for acceptance.

Families will then have 2 business days to accept or decline enrollment into Eagle Quest via electronic acceptance.
HOW TO COMPLETE THE EAGLE QUEST ENROLLMENT INTEREST FORM BETWEEN 5/1/24 AND 5/15/24:
- Go to this link. (The lottery is currently closed)
- Log in if you are a current or previous PSD student, or create an account if you are new
- Select "EAGLE QUEST ENROLLMENT INTEREST FORM"
- Complete the form with your child's information, legal residential address in PSD, and a date of birth.
- Keep in mind that Eagle Quest will serve incoming 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders for the 2024-2025 school year.
