FHS Drama Club presents adaptation of “The Odyssey,” Nov. 21-23

The Fairport High School Drama Club presents “The Odyssey” on Thursday, Nov. 21, Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23. All shows are at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Tickets can be purchased for $10 at area Wegmans or at the door the evenings of the show.

This dramatic adaptation of Homer’s myth begins with a modern young woman who is struggling to understand Robert Fitzgerald’s translation of The Odyssey.

Fairport High School partners with local credit union to open school branch

Fairport High School is now home to its own student-run credit union! Students, faculty, administrators and Advantage Federal Credit Union (AFCU) officials celebrated the grand opening of Raider Union in October 2019. The school’s business students are learning about financial literacy while gaining real world experience through this partnership with AFCU.

Fairport CSD Safety Week October 7-11

As part of our ongoing efforts to make our schools as safe as possible for students, the Fairport Central School District will hold safety drills the week of October 7.  Throughout the week, students will learn and practice emergency safety drills, including shelter-in-place, hold-in-place, evacuation, lockout, and lockdown. We practice these drills to refine our safety and emergency response practices to help us be as prepared as possible in the event of an actual emergency,

FHS Senior Leadership Seminar students showcase research in D.C.

Each fall, Fairport High School (FHS) students have a unique opportunity to work with government leaders in Washington, D.C. to discuss topics and issues they research as part of a social studies elective course, Senior Leadership Seminar. This year, 119 seminar students traveled to D.C, September 22-25 and engaged in a rigorous schedule that allowed them to showcase their research.
