Fairport High School recognized in 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best High School Rankings

Fairport High School is one of the best in the nation according to the annual U.S. News & World Report’s 2020 Best High Schools Rankings released on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

The publication evaluated more than 17,700 public high schools across the country. According to the report, Fairport High School ranked 1,296 on the list of best schools in the country,

Fairport High School Senior Recognized with National “Outstanding Young Women in Chemistry” Award

In an effort to promote interest in chemistry among young women, Iota Sigma Pi, the national honor society for women in chemistry, has presented 46 female high school students with the “Outstanding Young Women in Chemistry” award.  Recipients of the award show high academic achievement in chemistry.

Fairport’s Robotics team to compete in FIRST® Finger Lakes Robotics Competition, March 12-14

The Fairport Central School District Red Raider Robotics Team 578 will compete in the FIRST Finger Lakes Robotics Competition at the Rochester Institute of Technology’s Gordon Field House, March 12-14. This year’s theme is FIRST Launch Infinite Recharge.

Twelve teams to represent Fairport in Greater Rochester Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament

Twelve (12) teams will represent Fairport CSD in the Greater Rochester Odyssey of the Mind Regional Tournament being held on Saturday, March 7 at the Spencerport Central School District.

The regional winners in each division for each problem will advance to the state tournament on Saturday, April 4 at Binghamton State University.

Fairport High School High has been selected as a German American Partnership Program (GAPP) School of Distinction, an honor that recognizes schools for exceptional partnership in fostering a long-term youth exchange program between the U.S. and Germany. The High School is among a select group of schools nationwide to receive the award.

The Fairport Art Department is pleased to share that 16 works by Fairport students grades 6-12 are featured in the “Start Here” Exhibition throughout January at RIT’s Bevier Gallery.

Each year art teachers in the surrounding area have the opportunity to enter ONLY two pieces into an annual exhibit held at RIT.
