About Our School

Mission:

The staff, parents, and students at Martha Brown Middle School will continue to work as a team to develop a friendly, nurturing environment which fosters positive self-esteem, mutual respect, and responsibility. While recognizing individual learner styles, we will offer diverse opportunities which will promote academic, physical, social, and emotional growth. Within these transitional years, we will endeavor to develop critical thinkers, whose spirit of inquiry will form the basis for a lifelong love of learning as contributing members of society.

Facilities:

Martha Brown Middle School opened in September 1965. In 1995 and 2010, the school had major renovations and now includes 34 classrooms, a library media center, 2 art rooms, 2 music rooms, 3 instrumental music lesson rooms, 2 large ensemble rehearsal rooms, auditorium, 3 technology rooms, 3 home & career rooms, 3 gym areas, fitness center, 2 climbing walls, locker rooms, 3 classrooms designated for remedial math and reading, 3 resource rooms, 3 computer labs, 3 self-contained classrooms, health and attendance office, main office area, counseling suite including private offices for three counselors, school psychologist, school social worker, strategic learning specialist, teachers' work room, 2 dining rooms, food court serving area, and athletic fields.

Congratulations to our Fairport High School music students who were selected to participate in the New York State Conference All-State earlier this month. Our Fairport students performed solos at NYSSMA Solo Festivals and received perfect scores in order to be selected in this highly competitive experience comprised of the highest level of musicianship for high school students in New York State. A new chapter of of technology education begins at Johanna Perrin Middle School as students take their first classes in the school’s new Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) wing! The new spaces are the culmination of years of design, collaboration and construction as part of the voter-approved Fairport Forward 2019 Capital Improvement Project.

The Fairport Central School District is proud to announce that through the combined efforts of our elementary school students, families and staff, the District and our partners at Crazy Dog T-Shirts collected $11,000 in donations for UR Medicine’s Golisano Children’s Hospital!

Students at Northside, Dudley, Brooks Hill and Jefferson Avenue collected donations at school and online this past October as part of the annual Fall Crawl.
