Evolution is change in the heritable traits of biological populations over generations. Evolutionary processes give rise to diversity at every level of biological organisation, including the levels of species, individual organisms, and molecules.  Taxonomy is a specific type of classification which defines groups of biological organisms on the basis of shared characteristics and giving names to those groups.
