With its focus on encouraging healthy life choices, Red Ribbon Week heightens everyone’s awareness that we need to work together to eradicate drug and substance abuse.
Fairport CSD Safety Week October 7-11
As part of our ongoing efforts to make our schools as safe as possible for students, the Fairport Central School District will hold safety drills the week of October 7. Throughout the week, students will learn and practice emergency safety drills, including shelter-in-place, hold-in-place, evacuation, lockout, and lockdown. We practice these drills to refine our safety and emergency response practices to help us be as prepared as possible in the event of an actual emergency,

Summer months bring several facilities & site work improvements
The buildings and schools at Fairport Central School District are busy during the summer months. This summer was no exception, as the District spent the past several weeks working through facilities and site work improvements before students return on Sept. 4.
While students attended several summer school offerings and staff participated in numerous professional development and curriculum planning opportunities,
Elementary Placements will be available on Aug. 9
Traditionally K-5 elementary classroom placements have been shared on or about August 1. This year, due to additional sections being added in July, all buildings are publishing placement information on August 9. Our priority is to create balanced, heterogeneous classrooms. This additional time will ensure that we are thoughtful with the placement of your child.
End-of-Year Celebration honors 2018-19 retirees
Fairport CSD held its annual End-of-Year Celebration for faculty and staff on June 26 featuring the Fairport High School Asset Leaders, a recap of the Make a Difference campaign, recognition of Principal Dave Dunn, our talented high school musicians and a retiree celebration.
Congratulations again to Dave Dunn who was named SAANYS/NAESP 2019 New York State Middle School Principal of the Year.
Northside celebrates end of school year with HEROpalooza
Northside School celebrated HEROpalooza, a building-wide field day involving all staff and students on June 14, 2019. Activities included yoga by Butterfly Kids yoga, games and Gaga pit by Camp Arrowhead, Grade 5 talent show, relays, tug of war, field games and a closing celebration and sing along.
Graduation Walk: Class of 2019 visits former schools
Donning their caps and gowns and nametags declaring their post-graduate plans, Fairport High School’s Class of 2019 took a stroll down memory lane by returning to their former schools as part of the school’s first-ever Graduation Walk.

Residents approve 2019-20 school budget
Residents in the Fairport Central School District approved the 2019-20 budget on May 21, 2019. Voters also approved the proposition and elected board members, along with approving the library budget and electing a library board trustee.
