Throughout the month of February, Northside students have directed a series of iMovie trailers for the Northside Morning Show called “Heroes Sharing Heroes.” The segment is in honor of Black History Month.

Northside School third-graders in Michelle Laughrey’s class could barely contain their excitement as they worked on their penguin projects using Google Slides with a little help from a class of friendly fifth-graders.
This project allowed students to dive into a science project while honing their reading and research skills.
Due to winter conditions, all Fairport CSD after-school activities are canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 12. The regularly scheduled board meeting is postponed to Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Fairport High School Room 512.
Northside School students and families are invited to the 2019 Northside School Family STEM Night on Thursday, February 28 from 6:30-8 p.m. to experience Science, Technology, Engineering and Math exhibits run by Rochester community members and Northside parents and teachers.

There are occasionally times when students, parents or community members would like to provide information to a school but hesitate. Fairport Central School District will be closed Thursday, Jan. 31 due to winter weather conditions. This includes all extracurricular activities.
In addition, the Learning Links will be closed Wednesday evening and all day Thursday.
UPDATE: The community budget meeting originally scheduled for this evening is canceled due to weather conditions.
All Fairport CSD afternoon activities are canceled for Jan. 30. All students will be bused home today. No students are to walk home in the winter weather. Alternatively, parents may pick up students from their schools.
Weather in the Rochester area is unpredictable and, at times, extreme. The decision to close schools based on forecast weather is not an easy one, as the district’s commitment to educate students comes second only to keeping students and staff safe.
Low temperatures and deep wind chills are forecast for the region in the coming days.
