Welcome! My name is Alexis Walker (Silkwood) and this will be my third year at Biloxi High School! I am extremely excited to be back and be able to teach 9th Grade World History. I graduated with my undergrad degree from Mississippi State (Hail State) in Secondary Education (Social Studies) with a Minor in History. I also played softball for the Bulldogs during my time there. After graduation, I was the softball graduate manager at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky and received my Masters in Sports Administration. 

I look forward to learning and teaching each of my students. One of the main reasons I want to teach is the ability to connect and help high schoolers understand and apply lessons taught throughout history and make them applicable to their lives. History is such a blank canvas and there are SO MANY different ways to learn, understand, and study that there is something that will spark an interest in all students. 

On a personal note , I recently got married in 2022, I am originally from Illinois and have gradually moved further south. I also have a Maltese named Theodore "Teddy" who is as spoiled as can be. I love to read, listen to music, and I firmly believe chocolate should be its own food group.
