Hello!

Welcome to my website. I am so excited to be teaching your student this year. I am also very excited to see them grow as individuals and as students. I am positive that, with a little effort, this year will be  very successful for them! In their first term of English I, students will work with IXL assignments, as well as practice skills with common core based workbooks. Almost every Thursday during this term, students will also have a "toothless" quiz to complete. It is a take-home quiz, and it will be due (completed) on Friday, or they will not receive a grade. Students will also experience classic works of literature this year such as: Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, and Night by Elie Wiesel. While this year will look different from last year, we will be using many of the same computer-based programs that your students are familiar with from previous years including: Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Forms, Google Drive, IXL, Google Meets, and Kami. It will benefit your student to become comfortable with those online tools if they are not already.

A little about me: 

I am a USM alumni, and I am very excited to be working in the Biloxi Public School District again this year. The two things I love most are teaching English and my dog, Nova. English has been a love of mine for most of my life, and I realized at eight years old that I wanted to teach. Teaching may be my passion, but I understand that school intimidates many students. I will always do my best to make my classroom a fun and safe environment for your student to experience the written language in.
