Daniel Hummel
Class of 1983, Athlete, 2006 Inductee
Considered by many to be the “best athlete” to ever graduate from Warsaw. This athlete was a 12-time varsity letterman; one in football, three in soccer, and four in both baseball and basketball. He was the leading scorer on the 1981 soccer team, holds the school record for the longest field goal made of 45-yards, and threw a no-hitter against Perry in 1983.
He is best remembered for his accomplishments on the basketball court. During his four-year varsity career, he averaged more than 23 points per game and still stands as the all-time leading scorer in Warsaw boys’ history with 1,493 points. He was the captain and MVP of the undefeated 1981-82 team.
