Joseph Gillen

Class of 1940, Athlete, 2006 Inductee

This athlete defined the phrase “complete athlete”.  Playing during the time that athletes were allowed to participate in more than one sport per season, he amassed an amazing 14 varsity letters.  By all accounts this is the most by any athlete in Warsaw’s history.

He played basketball, football, baseball, track and tennis during his career.  He was the captain of both the football and basketball teams and was selected as an All-County basketball player.
