This four-sport athlete, is remembered as one who “Refused To Lose”.
He was the 2nd leading scorer on the varsity soccer teams in both his junior and senior years. At the time of his graduation he held the varsity soccer single season assist record. As a guard on the basketball team his play helped the team to an overall two year record of 36-6, including an undefeated regular season in 1982. The team won LCAA titles in both 1982 and 1983. In his freshman year he played 1st doubles on the varsity tennis team and then played 2nd singles as a sophomore. The teams won LCAA titles in both years.
Switching to track as a junior, he became the dominant distance runner in all of Section V during the 1982 and 1983 seasons. After winning county and sectional titles, he represented Section V in the state meet in the 3200 meter run in 1983. This two-time team MVP never lost a LCAA 1600 meter or 3200 meter race during his career. His LCAA record of 9 minutes and 26 seconds in the 3200 meter run still stands today after 25 years.
