They have picked their topics and are well on their way to completing the research requirements. The writing process will take approximately a little over a week to complete. Throughout this process the students will be using the 6 + 1 Traits. These traits are Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Conventions, and Presentation. Each trait helps the students analyze a different aspect of their writing. Therefore in the end, the students should be able to portray their thoughts in their writing and it should be clear for the audience to interpret as well.
