Connecting Classroom Material to Real Life Situations
Almost every day a student will ask, "just when we will ever use the stuff we learn in school in real life". Sometimes as a teacher this can be as hard question to answer. That is why I believe transition planning into the next level after high school is so important. Students need the core classes such as math and communication arts, but more importantly they need social and adaptability skills to succeed. In Strategies class we work on improving academics while discussing and implement activities that can help students in further education or the workforce. I believe if a student can see what is out there and is able to put the pieces together with proper support they will get where they need to in life.
