The excitement of the beginning of school and seeing your friends and starting new classes has worn off.  Then the excitement of the Holiday Season is over.  So, what’s next is some of the most important time period in education.  Unfortunately, it’s a time when students feel the least motivated according to historical data.

Teachers can use a variety of ways to help motivate students during this time.  Creating special days and competition in the classroom are a fews ways to help encourage students during this time.  Also, trying something new and creative with students let them know you are willing to do what it takes for them to achieve and try their best.

Good luck to all students, parents, and teachers as we battle the 3rd quarter slump!
