Fall Crawl Raises $9,086.21 for Golisano Children’s Hospital

Students from Fairport’s four elementary schools walked through the sunshine and falling leaves on October 21 for Golisano Children’s Hospital. The Annual Fall Crawl tradition raises awareness and funds to make sure children and families get the care they need. 

Brooks Hill, Dudley, Jefferson Avenue and Northside school students gathered a collective $9,086.21.

Update on Fairport Forward 2022 Capital Improvement Project campaign: new FAQ, videos and renderings

FCSD administrators and staff are excited to share more information with our Fairport neighbors and friends about the proposed Fairport Forward 2022 Capital Improvement Project. In mid-October, the Board of Education approved a Proposition Resolution calling for a Special Vote on December 13, 2022!

Here’s what you need to know about Fairport Forward 2022:

      • The next stage in the District’s phased plan to:
        • Stage FHS for the merger of our ninth-grade students
        • Consolidate District buildings 
        • Protect your investment in our facilities by updating infrastructure
      • The anticipated impact to voters is an additional $59 a year for homes valued at $200k
        • It is projected that taxpayers would see this impact begin in the 2025-26 fiscal year
      • Project highlights include:
        • Multi-purpose STEAM learning spaces at FHS 
        • Reimagined and renovated FHS music,

Board of Education, administration outline 2023-2024 Budget Goals

Students and staff are into the second month of the new school year and the District and Board of Education are looking ahead to the coming budget process. An institution in the Fairport Central School District Music department – and a fixture in the Rochester music scene – was honored by the Eastman School of Music as part of its “Centennial Awards” celebration! Fairport High School music teacher and band director Bill Tiberio was named one of the Eastman School’s 100 recipients of the Centennial Award.

FHS students earn recognition in National Merit Scholarship Program

The Fairport Central School District is proud to recognize Fairport High School student Shane Kuo, who has been named a semi-finalist in the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Competition!

Students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in 11th grade.
