Instructional Council
The Instructional Council is charged with providing a shared vision that ensures all students have an educational experience that prepares them for their futures. The Instructional Council provides oversight of procedures, systems, and programs ensuring Fairport’s educational programming is the result of a continuous process of planning, implementation, and review. The Council is chaired by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and is comprised of representatives of Lead Teachers, Building Principals and Assistant Principals, FEA Executive Council, Directors, and Board of Education.
Specific tasks include prioritizing and setting criteria for:
- Fairport exit outcomes
- Curriculum writing
- Course adoption/deletion
- Program pilots
- Textbook/resource adoption
- Review of State-required plans: AIS/RTI, and PDP
This year the Instructional Council’s work will include:
- November 7: Course guide through the lens of equity in participation
- January 16: Standards & curriculum coherence, PD planning
- April 23: Presentation of D-W program reviews
