Dear Families:

As you may know, late Friday afternoon, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Commissioner of Health, Dr. Howard Zucker sent a letter to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) citing that the state plans to change masking guidance for schools.

The following message was sent to all District families Sunday, June 6, 2021 after a Special Board of Education meeting was held regarding the District’s Mask Policy.

The Fairport Central School District Board of Education (BOE) will hold a special meeting on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at 8 p.m. to discuss Fairport’s mask and face covering policy. The meeting is open to the public and will be held virtually via YouTube LIVE.

The Monroe County superintendents have sent a new letter to the Governor urging New York State to provide updated, clear guidance on the following: Remote Learning, Social Distancing and Masking, Testing, Micrometrics/School Rates, Assurances/Procedures, Vaccination, Capacity, and Other Guidance and Considerations.

Fairport’s School Budget Vote and Board Elections for the 2021-22 school year is being held in person on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Johanna Perrin Gymnasium. Fairport Senior High School was named one of the top high schools in the nation by the publication, U.S. News & World Report. The publication released its high school rankings last month. Fairport was ranked #1,227 in the nation, placing it in the top 40% of schools identified by the magazine,

Jamie Naple, of Victor, was appointed as Dudley School’s next principal at the April 20, 2021 Board of Education meeting, beginning July 1, 2021. She will replace Karen Fingar, who is retiring at the end of June.

Mrs. Naple has extensive primary and elementary experience as a teacher and administrator.

Superintendent Provenzano sent the following message to all families with children in grades K-12 at Fairport schools, April 10, regarding the return to full-time instruction beginning April 19 after the NYSDOH updated its guidance on April 9, 2021.

The Fairport Central School District updated the 2021-22 School Calendar, which was Board approved on April 5, 2021. The changes reflect the first and last day of school. The first day of school will now be on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021 and the last day of school for students in grades K-8 will be Friday,
