Fairport athletes are supporting the fight against breast cancer by raising funds and awareness for a local treatment center. The Fairport Varsity boys and girls volleyball teams went all in to raise funds for Pluta Cancer Center for October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The two teams collected $1,000 to donate to Pluta by selling pink shirts recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Students will be dismissed 10 minutes early on Thursday, Oct. 7
All students will be released 10 minutes early on Thursday, Oct. 7 for the District’s annual drill required by New York State Education Department (NYSED) regulations.
This drill also coincides with the District’s Safety Week, Oct. 12-15, in which students will learn and practice emergency safety drills. Fairport Schools practice these drills to refine communication processes,
Fairport administration, Board salutes August FHS graduates
The Fairport Central School District administration salutes the members of the class of 2021 who graduated last month. Eight August graduates were honored before the September Board of Education Meeting at Fairport High School. Fairport increases retention & recruitment efforts due to National Bus Driver Shortage
The Fairport Central School District has been experiencing a bus driver shortage, as many districts are also experiencing on a local, state and national level.
To mitigate the impact of the ongoing shortage, the District has continued with the following efforts:
- The Board of Education approved a newly negotiated contract between the District and the Fairport Transportation Association that includes highly competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package for current and prospective bus drivers and attendants.
Welcome Back Guide now available!
The 2021-22 edition of the District’s Welcome Back Guide is now available to view online and will be mailed to all District residents before the start of the 2021-22 school year, beginning on September 9.
All students can receive free breakfast and lunch every school day for 2021-22
All Fairport students in grades K-12 can receive one free breakfast and/or one free lunch meal each school day, as part of a waiver extension through June 2022 as part of federal funds. All students opting for a free breakfast and/or lunch must take the required components offered through Food Service.
Tentative plans to use Federal Funding 2021-2023
As previously communicated, over the next three years The Fairport Central School District will receive funding from the Federal Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act.

Fairport High School graduate shares vision of the pandemic with portrait collection
A Fairport alumna is shining a light on some of those who have suffered most during the COVID-19 pandemic: health care workers. Julia Maddalina, a 2014 Fairport High School graduate, is the artist behind Portraits of the Frontline, a series of 100 paintings showing the faces of health care workers.
