Jamie Naple, of Victor, was appointed as Dudley School’s next principal at the April 20, 2021 Board of Education meeting, beginning July 1, 2021. She will replace Karen Fingar, who is retiring at the end of June.

Mrs. Naple has extensive primary and elementary experience as a teacher and administrator. She comes to Fairport from the Greece CSD where she most recently served as the Early Childhood Coordinator and an assistant principal. Before her administrative experiences, she taught students in the Rochester City School District and Victor CSD.

She holds two Master of Science degrees, one in Educational Leadership and the other in Literacy Education, along with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Minor in Elementary Education, all from St. John Fisher College.

In her new role, Mrs. Naple said her priority is to support the highest quality early childhood education, for all students, in a positive and supportive environment where all differences are embraced. She adds, “I am committed to assisting and promoting staff, families, and community involvement in this quest.”

She said her goal is to meet the academic, social emotional development for all children, which she shares is the foundation for a positive school experience and in creating the eagerness to be a lifelong learner.

“I am very passionate about supporting and providing an all-inclusive education for all students and to help them foster their joy of learning,” said Mrs. Naple. “I look forward to continuing in a role focused on early childhood learning where developmentally appropriate practices are integral to each child’s whole development.”

After a multi-step interview process – including an internal hiring committee and focus groups that included a variety of stakeholders – Mrs. Naple was named the new principal.

“Mrs. Naple has demonstrated a passion for primary school-aged children, command of the foundational skills our students need for their futures and a breadth of knowledge to complement and support our DU staff and families,” said Superintendent of Schools Brett Provenzano.

Mrs. Naple is a Victor resident, along with her husband, Jonathan, and two children, Mason and Marion. Outside of work, her family enjoys athletics and outdoor activities. She is a certified mindfulness teacher and enjoys engaging in mindfulness practices as well.
