 Soy Alejandra Rodríguez, docente del programa de Participate Learning y soy de Bogotá, Colombia. Amo enseñar y poder servirles a otros. Me gusta aprender nuevas lenguas, viajar, explorar el mundo, leer, dibujar mandalas y tengo un amor profundo por los animales y la naturaleza.

 Llevo más de 6 años trabajando como docente con niños de preescolar y primaria. Encuentro en la enseñanza un camino para abrir nuevas puertas al conocimiento, la curiosidad y la imaginación.

 Me gusta enseñar a través del uso de la tecnología y métodos modernos de educación. Nuestros niños enfrentan un gran desafío aprendiendo contenidos y habilidades en inglés y español, y la mejor manera de enfrentar dichos desafíos es a través de la combinación de la disciplina, la constancia y la diversión dentro del salón de clases.

I am Alejandra Rodríguez, a teacher of the Participate Learning program and I am from Bogotá, Colombia. I love teaching and being able to serve others. I like learning new languages, traveling, exploring the world, reading, drawing mandalas and I have a deep love for animals and nature.

 I have been working as a teacher with preschool and primary school children for more than 6 years. In teaching, I find a way to open new doors to knowledge, curiosity and imagination.

 I like to teach through the use of technology and modern methods of education. Our children face a great challenge learning content and skills in English and Spanish, and the best way to meet these challenges is through a combination of discipline, perseverance, and fun in the classroom.

Soy Jessica Lozano Ramírez. Soy de Colombia. Soy licenciada en Comunicación e Informática Educativa y Maestría en Educación ambas de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, Colombia. Llevo más o menos siete años como maestra en español e inglés. Me gusta pasar tiempo con amigos y familia. Además, prefiero las montañas a la playa. Creo que la enseñanza es una de las experiencias más increíbles que he hecho porque me ha ayudado a crecer personalmente y profesionalmente.

I am Jessica Lozano Ramirez. I am from Colombia. I have a bachelor’s degree in Communication and educational informatics and a Master's in Education both from Universidad tecnológica de Pereira, Colombia. I have been teaching for about seven years in Spanish and English. I like to spend time with friends and Family. Also, I prefer the mountains over the beach. I believe that teaching is one of the most incredible experiences that I have done because it has helped me to grow personally and professionally.  

Hola, me llamo Silvia Cabrera, pero mi familia y amigos me conocen como Jackie.

Soy de la ciudad de Villanueva, en el estado de Cortes que pertenece a la costa norte de Honduras.

Me gradué como Lic. En Pedagogía y Ciencias de la Educación en la Universidad Nacional de mi país y al mismo tiempo obtuve mi diploma en inglés como segundo idioma en la Universidad Pedagógica de Honduras. En 2021 cumplí 10 años ejerciendo como maestra en los cuales he tenido a cargo como maestra guía kindergarten, primero y segundo grado e impartido clases a tercero y cuarto grado.

Me uní al programa hace un año y medio para ser maestra de intercambio cultural así que represento a mi país en el programa de Spanish inmersión y vine a este país con mi familia, es un placer estar con cada uno de mis nuevos alumnos compartiendo un poco de lo que es la cultura centroamericana.

Hello, my name is Silvia Cabrera, but my family and friends know me as Jackie.

I am from the city of Villanueva, in the state of Cortes, which belongs to the northern coast of Honduras.

I graduated with a degree in Pedagogy and Educational Sciences from the National University of Honduras and, at the same time, I obtained my degree in English as a Second Language at the Pedagogical University of Honduras. In 2021, I completed 10 years working as a teacher in which I have taught kindergarten, first and second grade, and taught classes to third and fourth grade.

I joined the program a year and a half ago to be a cultural exchange teacher and to represent my country in the Spanish immersion program. I came to this country with my family. It is a pleasure to be with each of my new students sharing a little of what Central American culture is all about.

Mi nombre es Paula Acuna Cueto, soy de Chile. Estoy casada hace 7 años y tengo dos hijas, Andrea y Emma. Mi esposo es de Colombia. Tengo 35 años. Junto a mi esposo cantamos en la iglesia C3 en Español, y servimos a la comunidad. 

My name is Paula Acuña Cueto, I am from Chile. I have been married for 7 years and have two daughters, Andrea and Emma. My husband is from Colombia. I'm 35. My husband and I sing at the C3 Church in en Spanish, and we serve the community.

Mi nombre es María Infante, soy de Santiago de Chile, vine hace 5 años con mi familia para enseñar español en la Escuela Primaria Rocky River. Tengo 14 años de experiencia enseñando a estudiantes desde kinder hasta el sexto grado. Soy licenciada en Educación Primaria y soy especialista en Inglés como Segunda Lengua.

My name is Maria Infante, I'm from Santiago de Chile, I came 5 years ago with my family to teach Spanish at Rocky River Elementary School. I have 14 years of experience teaching students from kindergarten to 6th grade.  I have a degree in Elementary Education and I'm a specialist in English as a Second Language.

Mi nombre es  Maria Jimena Degiovanni y soy la maestra de 5to grado del programa de inmersión dual de Rocky River Elementary. Soy de Argentina, de una ciudad que se llama Río Cuarto y se encuentra ubicada en el centro de  mi país. Si bien éste es mi primer año enseñando aquí, hace 11 años que soy docente. He trabajado en distintos niveles educativos, tanto en primaria como secundaria. Considero que cada nivel tiene características que los hacen únicos, pero siento que el nivel primario es mi lugar en el mundo. Aquí en Rocky River trabajamos en equipo para darles lo mejor a nuestros niños para que crezcan siendo personas íntegras y tengan las herramientas necesarias para enfrentar todo lo que se les presente en el camino. 

My name is Maria Jimena Degiovanni and I am the 5th grade teacher for Rocky River Elementary's dual immersion program. I am from Argentina, from a city called Río Cuarto and it is located in the center of my country. Although this is my first year teaching here, I have been a teacher for 11 years. I have worked at different educational levels, both primary and secondary. I believe that each level has characteristics that make it unique, but I feel that the primary level is my place in the world. Here at Rocky River, we work as a team to give our children the best, so that they grow up to be people of integrity and have the necessary tools to face everything that comes their way.
