Mrs. Amy Whitten

 

My name is Amy Whitten and I am beyond excited to share this academic year with you all. I am the Multi-Classroom Leader and will be working with both the 2nd and 4th grade teams. This is my first  year as a Roadrunner and I couldn't be more excited to participate in the learning of the children in this community.  This is my 11th year in education and all 11 have been right here in Cabarrus County.  I graduated from UNCC with my Bachelors in Elementary Education, and graduated with my Masters in Reading Education in May of 2018.   

One of my very favorite things to do in my free time is to curl up with a good book. I love sharing my reading life with our scholars and encourage them to read every single day!  I also enjoy hiking, kayaking, coloring, and spending time with my special four legged friends, Lucy and Marilyn.  My husband Rex and I have a three year old, Nora June.  She loves joining us on our outdoor excursions. She will be attending Mary Frances Wall this year.  We also have a 1 year old son, Emmett Brady.  

I look forward to pushing our scholars to be life-long learners and I feel honored to be a part of their journeys.
