CCS Arts Walk & Exhibit WinnerCongratulations to Lori Hoover whose art work was selected as Dr. Lowder’s choice for 2018!MPMS students and their families were invited to attend the CCS Arts Walk & Exhibit on Friday, April 20th in Downtown Concord. The awards ceremony began at 7:30 p.m. on the Main Stage at the corner of Union Street and Means Avenue.This year’s Superintendent’s Choice Award Winners are:Elementary School Level — Northern Lights by Sneha Sooraj — W.R. Odell Primary, 2nd grade, Rachel Stafford, teacherMiddle School Level — Queen Zariah by Lori Hoover — Mount Pleasant Middle, 8th grade, Michelle Turner, teacherHigh School Level — Me Extreme Foreshortening by Emma Schreck — Hickory Ridge High, 11th grade, Steve Mitchem, teacherIn addition to the awards ceremony, the Arts Walk & Exhibit included performances from CCS music and theater students as well as displays of student art.

District Soil & Water Conservation Speech Winner
"Water: the cycle of life" is the theme of this year's Soil & Water Conservation speech contest. Anthony Stephenson presented his 6 minute speech at the regional competition on Saturday, March 17th in Lexington, NC. Anthony placed first and continued to the state level competition on Friday, May 11th to represent Cabarrus County and Mt. Pleasant Middle School. Congratulations Anthony!

Impact Through Education Awards
At the February 12th Board of Education meeting two students and two staff members were recognized as Impact Through Education Award winners from Mt. Pleasant Middle School. Congratulations goes to Brennen J., Chloe L, Zachary Trivett, and Joey LeMasters! These award winners were selected by the staff at MPMS and we are very proud of them!
