Hello! My name is Donna Lyman. I am a graduate of UNCC. This year will be my 18th year teaching.  I began my teaching career at Harrisburg Elementary School, where I taught 2nd and 3rd grades. In 2014, I moved to a brand new local charter school, Bradford Prep. Being part of starting a new school was a great experience. I spent 6 1/2 years at Bradford. I taught 4th grade, 5th grade ELA and spent the last couple of years supporting middle school ELA teachers.  This is my 3rd year teaching 6th grade ELA at Mount Pleasant Middle School. My favorite thing about teaching ELA is helping reluctant readers find books that they enjoy reading.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family.  I have two grown daughters, and an amazing three-year-old grandson named Jacob. My husband, Will and I enjoy traveling and going to see plays at the local theaters. We are also busy with our 2-year-old rescue dog named Jasper.
