- Provide education to everyone for free.
- Subjects include: Math, Science, English, Geography, and Foreign Language (all levels)
- Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
Rocky River's GOAL is to donate 1,000,000 (one million) grains of rice by the end of the school year.
OCTOBER

Socktober
SOCKTOBER is a national sole warming movement that gives everyone an easy and fun way to help those in need within their very own town! All anyone needs in order to participate is to donate a new pair of socks. Socks are the most needed but least donated for homeless shelters.

Spooktacular Concord

Each student brings in a CLEAN milk/water jug into homeroom and two battery operated tea light candles (Dollar Store)

Each student will design his/her own “ghost” out of the milk jugs.

On Halloween, all the “ghost” jugs will be placed on the grass near the road.

Share What You CAN

Students bring in ONE non perishable item - to benefit local food pantries.
NOVEMBER

Wall of Honor/Veteran’s Day

Each student at Rocky River will receive a large yellow star in homeroom.

They are to list on the star the name of a veteran or active service member they know and what branch of the military (if known)

DECEMBER

US Marines - Toys For Tots

Games For Tots...A new twist for the time honored charity, Toys for Tots.
JANUARY

SouperBowl
-
Each grade - given a different type of soup. (chicken noodle, tomato)

Collect cans of soup for local food pantry.
FEBRUARY

Saving One NOSE At A Time

½ of the collected boxes will be donated to a local homeless shelter

½ distributed among the classrooms at Rocky River

Students bring in boxes of tissues to homeroom
MARCH

Zebras and Other Special PETS
-
Staff will bring in pictures of their pets. Each pet picture will be attached to a collection jar. The collection jars will be located in the front of the school. Students will vote for his/her favorite pet.

The pet that brings in the most money will receive a gift certificate to a local pet store. The rest of the money will be split evenly between a Humane Society and Rocky River Student Council.
