Advanced Art is for 8th grade students who have successfully completed Art 1 in 7th grade.  This course is more student initiated, as students are given broader parameters and are gradually given the task to take the reins to their own art making experience.  Students are first taught methods for conceptualizing and generating ideas interesting to them and then asked to do just that; explore an idea thoroughly to its fruition. The course is designed to tap into the student's natural curiosities and interests and encourages a divergent thinking path towards multiple solutions.
